Engagement and marriage

The announcement prompted generally positive comments about the possible social significance of a foreign member of the royal family. Approval of the royal wedding was especially strong in the Zongosphere as opposed to Zong-proper where some backlash was felt in conservative sectors of the population. The couple married in ISLAND, Nusaraya on 6 May 2018. The couple wore three sets of wedding attire. They had the popular Western couture in crisp white and a very traditional Jade red wedding attire as well as the Nusarayan traditional wedding attire. Guests including royalty and ambassadors from various countries were invited to the wedding ceremony. Estimates of the global audience for the wedding ranged around 500 million or more, whilst 170 million watched the event live in Zong alone. On marriage, Ayu assumed the style "Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess Consort".

On 15 August 2018, Kenghian Villa announced that the Princess was pregnant with her first child. Princess Nalim was born at NAME Hospital in Huwei on 11 April 2019.
