Kandar is a sovereign state in Northern Illypnia. With over 165 million inhabitants, Kandar is Adonia's 10th most populous country. Comprising a land area of 759,394 km² (293,203.66 sq mi), it is the second largest country in the Near East and the ??th largest in Illypnia. Kandar is bordered to the north by Lagash and Katpatuka, to the northwest by the Mesogean Sea, to the west by Aetolia, to the east by Saremia and Mashriq, to the southwest by Vasaras, and to the south by Kotcija and the Sea of Aetolia. Barışehri is the country's capital and largest city, as well as its leading economic and cultural center.

Of the Kandari population as of the 2016 census, 84.2% declared themselves Muslims, comprising 79.3% who declared to be Sunni, 4.4% Shia, and 0.5% Ibadi. A further 3.7% were Armazists and 3.2% Jews. Christianity was the religions of 0.8% of the population. A further 8.1% of the population did not identify in one of those listed hitherto.
Among the Sunni majority in Kandar, the dominant madhhab is Shafiʽi.
