The Nadiradze Chaghara (Varkan: ნადირაძე ჭაღარა) was a fighter aircraft developed and manufactured by Aeronavtika Nadiradze in Varkana. It was operated in various forms by the SD who used the type during the Great Adonian War.
The Chaghara was a development of the earlier Cheka-Kukhili. With a top speed of some 640 km/h and equipped with a pair of 20 mm cannon as well as 12.7 mm Gordeli machine guns, the Chaghara was highly respected by Allied pilots. Widely regarded as one of the best Varkan aircraft of the Great Adonian War, it proved to be extremely effective, destroying a large number of Allied bombers during the Battle of Varkana.
While the Chaghara was able to match the best Allied opponents in speed and maneuverability, it was introduced late in the conflict. Due to the limitations of the Varkan war economy, only a small production run was delivered before the end of the war. Like the /Spitfire/, the Chaghara was tricky in its construction and slow to build.
