Triphylia (Triphylian: ጥሪጵይሊኣ), officially the State of Triphylia (Triphylian: ሃገረ ጥሪፊልያ, Hagere T’irīfīliya), is a transcontinental country located mainly in Kaftia with a smaller portion in Illypnia. Triphylia is a Mesogean country bordered by Tigre to the northeast, Amharic to the north, Erufos and Jarin to the west, the Kendriyan Ocean to the east, the Mesogean Sea to the south, Lagash to the east and surrounds the international city of Areza.
Triphylia's long and rich cultural heritage is an integral part of its national identity, which has endured, and often assimilated, various foreign influences, including Pwed, Aetolian, Vasari, Lagashi, Parani, Kandarn, and Jarinian. Triphylia was an early and important center of Christianity, but was largely Islamized and remains a predominantly Muslim country, albeit with a significant Christian minority.
From the 13th to the middle of the 20th century, Triphylia was ruled by foreign imperial powers: the Parani Caliphate and the Kandari Caliphate. In 1948, Triphylia gained its independence from the Kandari Caliphate in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Great Adonian War. The State of Triphylia became a founding member of the Adonian Community.
Islam is the official religion of Triphylia and Triphylian is its official language. The great majority of its 25 million inhabitants live in the north of the country in the Kaftian side, despite the country's largest city, Raph, located in the Illypnian side. The Triphylia Canal separates the two continents and connects the Mesogean Sea with the Kendriyan Ocean.
