Early life and education
Latso was born on 7 March 1970 in the commune of Oni, in Northern Varkana. She is the second child of Tsiuri Latso and Skadian footballer Hugo Søborg. She has three siblings, her older brother Giorgi, her sister Manana, and her younger brother Zuriko.
Latso attended Oni University and graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in administration and a master's degree in business administration.
Latso first joined SDI Gruppe in 1991 as an intern while doing her MBA.
In October 2016, Latso succeeded DUDE as the 3rd CEO in SDI Gruppe's history. As CEO, Latso led efforts to close the gender pay gap at SDI's international offices. After independent audits of Latso's initiative, SDI raised salaries across the company, which resulted in 99% of all men and women being paid equally. She also rejected all forms of bonuses and instead invested company profits towards improving employee welfare. She has encouraged the unionization of SDI subsidiaries, which resulted in the unionization of around 40% of the company's employees. She has notably stated that a "strong union-management partnership is good for the company".
Latso is broadly credited with having set SDI Gruppe on a course for sustainable profitability, better labor relations and continued success. In the four years since her appointment, SDI Gruppe's shares have appreciated by approximately 74% and the company has achieved record revenues, record profitability and increased real wages.
Since 2017, Latso has accompanied her brother, Varkan President Giorgi Latso, on a total of nine state visits abroad, including to Aetolia (2017, 2018, 2019), Kalinova (2017), Volisania (2017), Orma (2017), Jarin (2017), Zong (2018) and Burawa (2019). At the 2018 Adonian Economic Forum in Aquileia, Rutuli, she attended a dinner of Prime Minister Tan Bopo with a group of Mesogean CEOs. Over half of SDI's revenues are from government contracts.
Latso is married to consultant DUDE, whom she met while studying at Oni University, and has two children and two dogs. They live in the 8th District of Klow. Latso has coached children's football and is a passionate advocate for helping children to build the confidence to be active and healthy for life.
Latso is a member of the New Anticapitalist Party and has supported her brother, Giorgi, in each of his three presidential campaigns. She has been a vocal support Varkana's high income tax rates and has called for the "end of billionaires".
